Care instructions for your Polar Grill

All our products are made of high-quality materials. If you take good care of your barbecue, you will enjoy it for a very long time.

  • The wooden tables around your barbecue are made of durable Finnish pine. Before using them for the first time, we recommend treating all wooden tables with natural teak oil. This is a simple way to protect the wood. The treatment should be repeated from time to time or as needed.
  • Clean the fireplace of combustion residues after it has cooled down after each use.

  • For safe use and to protect the cast iron grate from bending, empty the ash container regularly. Let the ash cool down before emptying. Make sure that the ash container is in a safe place to prevent any hot residue from falling onto the floor. When cleaning, make sure the fireplace is cold, because even a day after burning, there may still be hot embers under the ash. So that the ash does not prevent the air from entering the combustion chamber, the ash box should be emptied after it has cooled down after use.

  • The ash is disposed of in a designated, non-combustible container. Wood ash is environmentally friendly and a good fertiliser. Ashes can also be used as fertiliser, but should not be put in the compost.

  • The ash should be disposed of in a non-flammable container.
  • After cleaning, coat the burning surfaces of the fireplace with cooking oil to protect them from corrosion. Please do not use chemicals or other unsuitable substances to protect the surfaces.

  • Place an outdoor barbecue in a covered, protected storage area during the winter. If the barbecue is permanently installed in a cabin, pavilion or other building, cover the chimney pipe in winter to prevent snow from getting into the stove when you are not using it for a long period.
